It was a strange game! Firstly we were all unsure that the opposition would arrive. No communication had been received from them so we were relieved when they arrived.

The lucky 2p did its job and Sam opted to field first. Our bowling was the best yet this season. It was straighter hence the near absence of wides (James A more please!) Knotty Green ended their innings prematurely on 68 having been bowled out. There was some excellent work in the field with two run outs and some great catching. Take a bow Sam for your brilliant one handed effort. Alex E took the bowling honours with a brilliant 4 for 10 to wrap up the inninngs. Three of those wickets came in one over.

69 is not a lot to chase but low targets can often cause problems. Problem one came in the first over when Bear had his stumps rattled by their opening bowler...eek 1 for none! James Q then was run out and Sam caught between attack and defence offered a simple chance. Problems? No, James A and Aidan to the rescue. James attacked whilst Aidan supported ably growing in confidence as the innings progressed. The game finished with a splendid hit for six into the trees from James who finished on 32 not out. It must be added that Knotty Green assisted our cause by giving us an inordinate amount of extras...thank you
